The Ozark Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is pleased to announce the annexation of Stone and Taney counties in Missouri. The Ozark Affiliate currently serves eight counties in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley. These counties are Benton, Boone, Carroll, Crawford, Madison, Newton, Sebastian and Washington.
The mission of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is to end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care and energizing science to find the cures for breast cancer. Seventy-five percent of net proceeds are invested in the Ozark Affiliate Service area, and the remaining 25 percent is used to fund breast cancer research. Since 1999, more than $8 million dollars has been raised to support our promise.
“This annexation means more involvement in our service area by Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” said Ben Morris, Director Skaggs Cancer Services. “It will open up partnership opportunities between the organization and Skaggs, which will ultimately benefit our community members through expansion of care and cancer services.”
Our goal has always been to be able to provide service to all that reside within the Ozark Mountain region. “We look forward to working with breast health providers and building long lasting relationships.” Lauren Marquette Director of Mission Service.
